Catholic
archbishop marries in New York
An African Catholic
archbishop who says God wants him and the Catholic Church to shed the
celibacy rule has married a South Korean woman in a group wedding in New
York.
The ceremony was organised by the Unification
Church.
Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo has long been at odds with the
Catholic hierarchy, although he remains based in Rome and still carries
his title.
He has indicated that he is not leaving the church or
disassociating from the Catholic tradition.
Archbishop Milingo was
removed some years agp from his official position in Lusaka, the capital
of Zambia, due to what the Catholic church saw as his inappropriate
involvement in exorcism and faith healing.
